The LI Exhibition Center – Butterfly Encounter

For instance, at the Li Exhibition Center, you can visit a Victorian courtyard and relax as thousands of butterflies from every part of the world flutter from flower to flower. Did you know that most butterflies have a very short life span of only a couple of weeks? This is the main reason why approximately 1000 pupae arrive each week from faraway places such as Asia, South America, Central America, and Africa.

One of the things that you will learn about is that there are both moths and butterflies. However, what is the difference? How many species do you think will be flying by at any given time during your visit? Would you enjoy seeing a butterfly emerge from its chrysalises? Have you ever wondered where silk comes from? Do caterpillars really turn into butterflies? What is so special about a Monarch Butterfly? These and many other questions will be answered during your visit.
