There’s a Warant Out For You. What Should You Do?

I very often get asked by clients, “If I have a warrant out for me, or I have a warrant out for me, what should I do?

Immediately what you should do is call your lawyer. Because the first thing that I would do is contact the police officer who contacted you, because it’s crucial that I let them know that you have a lawyer.

Once the police are aware that you have a lawyer, they can never question you. The only time they can question you as a matter of fact would be if I was present with them and you and I witness you waiving your right to remain silent.

So it is very important the first thing you do whenever you find out there is a warrant for you or you heard somebody talking that there might be a warrant, you have to get a defense attorney involved to contact the police and let them know, “He’s off limits. He’s my client and you can’t talk to him.
